Farmhouse furniture painting

Hi friends,

Just a quick little post for today. I’ve decided to overhaul and repaint an IKEA rolling cart I’ve had for a couple of years now, in order to give it more of a farmhouse feel.

The cart originally came in a bright, beautiful blue but I’ve decided to go a bit of a change and paint it an ivory white and possibly distress it with a bit of sandpaper too.

And the cart used to be used to once hold all my paint supplies and I’m now thinking of using it for guest storage, (for folded clothes and accessories) they might want to unpack while visiting.

And Krylon is my absolute favorite brand to turn to. I’m a huge, huge fan of their chalk paint (ex. Colonial white) because it gives every piece of furniture I’ve painted so far, the most wonderful antique feel.

However, this time I changed it up a bit. Since the rolling cart is going to be used for clothes storage, I’ve decided that a chalk paint wouldn’t be the most option, and I’ve opted for a Krylon spray paint with a satin finish instead.

Here’s the exact paint I’ve been using. And what I love about this paint is that how a built in primer too which is perfect for repainting furniture. Can’t wait to show you guys my progress.

Much love,

Liz
